CFC District 4 Director Kevin Bender passed away August 10 after battling prostate cancer. Bender was the board president of Carroll White Rural Electric Membership Corporation in Indiana. He served on that board 14 years and was seated on the CFC board two years ago. He also was the president and CEO of the Bank of Wolcott and the owner-operator of a family beef and crop farm.
“Kevin’s strong financial and rural utility background made him an insightful contributor to the CFC Board of Directors. His keen intellect coupled with his calm and warm demeanor will be greatly missed by both the board and the CFC staff,” CFC CEO Andrew Don said. “It has been an honor to work with him since he joined the CFC family two years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and co-op friends.”
CFC Board President Bruce Vitosh shared, “On behalf of the CFC Board of Directors, we are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Kevin. His knowledge and professional experience, along with his legacy of community service, proved to be very beneficial to his impact on the board. Kevin will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Denise and family.”
