CFC Board President Alan Wattles presided over his final official duties during the 53rd CFC Annual Membership Meeting in Boston on June 20 as his second term on the CFC board ended.
“When I joined the CFC board six years ago, I never could have imagined the journey I was about to embark on,” Wattles shared during his President’s Report. “Over my time on the board, but especially this past year, I can tell you that CFC has been determined to get the big things right.”
He spotlighted the selection of Andrew Don as CFC’s next CEO and the ensuing transition. “The board was determined to work with Andrew to make an already strong CFC, even stronger,” Wattles said.
Another area he saw CFC excel was the release of an upgrade to the CFC Compass forecasting software that provides new insights for cooperatives weighing the financial opportunity of broadband or other lines of business. In addition, CFC released the first season of the CFC Solutions Cast podcast and launched the weekly Economic & Market Watch newsletter.
“These new ways of serving you are rooted in CFC being determined to be the provider of choice for electric cooperatives,” Wattles said. “CFC doesn’t take your support for granted. We are determined to earn it each and every day by being our members’ most trusted financial resource.”
Wattles concluded his President’s Report, “I am looking forward to seeing CFC scale new heights of success from the sidelines. I have no doubt that CFC’s most successful days are still to come.”
