CFC recently retired and distributed $62.8 million to members, representing half of the fiscal year 2019 patronage capital allocation ($48.3 million) as well as $14.5 million in unretired patronage capital from fiscal year 1994.
This marks the 40th year in a row CFC has returned capital credits. In all, CFC has returned $1.75 billion to its member-owners since 1980. The 899 systems receiving distributions had the option of receiving a mailed check or wire transfer or putting the money into a CFC investment product.
Recipients also could make voluntary donations to the Cooperative System Integrity Fund using all or a portion of their retirement. More than 400 members donated a combined $883,000 to the fund.
Packets that include CFC patronage capital certificates and checks were mailed to members on Sept. 12. Wire transfers also were sent that day.
