In celebration of CFC’s 50th anniversary, we proudly offer this interactive look at rural electrification in the United States, with an emphasis on CFC’s role in providing our member cooperatives and rural utility systems with adequate capital to build distribution lines, transmission facilities and power plants that serve consumers across nearly 60 percent of the nation. We chronicle this history from NRECA’s creation of the Long-Range Study Committee in 1967 to present day.
