CFC in the Community

Our electric cooperative network is guided by values including social responsibility and caring for others. We offer employees the opportunity to participate directly in activities that support the community and benefit others including:

Adopt-a-Family Foundation

Adopt-a-Family Foundation

Employees can contribute funds, matched by CFC, through payroll deduction to Adopt-a-Family, an employee-owned foundation. Each quarter the foundation partners with Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) to provide a working family in crisis due to illness, job loss or other emergency with the resources needed to recover from the event.

In addition to the quarterly family adoptions, throughout the year CFC employees:

  • Hold special drives for winter clothing and necessities for a local shelter.
  • Support a nearby Early Head Start program through donations.
  • Organize special fund-raisers for member co-op employees affected by natural disasters.
  • Collect and donate toys and other household items to a community organization.
CFC Club

CFC Club

The employees’ CFC Club provides various opportunities for community service and charitable giving throughout the year. Each fiscal year, CFC Club members select a Charity of the Year to be the beneficiary of various fund-raisers hosted by the club. The largest fund-raising event is the club's annual Holiday Luncheon and Charity Raffle that takes place in December.

  • Fiscal year 2018 beneficiary is CornerstonesEmbry Rucker Community Shelter
  • In fiscal year 2017, the CFC Club raised $8,850 for the Loudoun Free Clinic
  • Previous beneficiaries of the club include No Kid Hungry, Loudoun Interfaith Relief, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Capital Area Food Bank, Children's National Medical Center and many other worthy organizations.
