2020 Form 7 Deadlines on Horizon

Rural Utilities Service (RUS) borrowers have until March 31 to submit Form 7s to the federal agency and non-RUS borrowers have until April 30 to submit Form 7s to CFC. Data submitted to RUS is automatically retrieved by CFC to compile the Key Ratio Trend Analysis (KRTA). The report provides an in-depth look at the financial and operational performance of more than 800 electric cooperatives annually since 1975. CFC Form 7 assists in credit underwriting and loan decisions in addition to letting members see how they perform in the KRTA.

“We are hopeful that the pandemic will not cause as significant a delay to members submitting Form 7s as last year,” CFC Senior Manager of Financial Products and Analysis Bettina Kimmel said. “The sooner members submit their forms, the sooner CFC will publish the KRTA report.”

CFC launched a five-part online training series to assist electric distribution cooperatives that do not borrow from RUS in filling out the CFC Form 7. The tutorials were created to guide cooperative CFOs or senior-level accountants through the process of accessing, completing, checking and submitting the CFC Form 7. These tutorials are divided into short modules that can be viewed from beginning to end, or by topic, to answer a specific question. Visit the Member Website to access the CFC Form 7 Tutorials.
