Electric cooperative leaders are moving artificial intelligence (AI) from experimentation to practical use. Across the cooperative network, organizations are applying AI to improve efficiency and decision-making while giving employees more time for higher-level work that requires experience and judgment.
Adoption also raises important questions: Where should a cooperative start? Which applications deliver meaningful value? How can leaders encourage experimentation while managing risk? What can cooperatives learn from one another?
CFC’s AI case study series explores how electric cooperatives are addressing those questions in real-world settings. Each case study highlights practical applications, challenges and lessons that can help leaders make informed decisions about where AI fits within their organizations.
The series also reflects a strength of the cooperative model: learning from peers. As more cooperatives test AI, sharing results and lessons can help others evaluate opportunities, manage risks and identify approaches worth exploring.
This page brings the case studies together as a resource for cooperative leaders. Explore the stories below to see how peers are putting AI to work and what they are learning along the way.
