Bjorn Lomborg, Kurt Warner Join MVP Lineup of IBES Speakers

Best-selling author Bjorn Lomborg and two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Kurt Warner will headline a stellar lineup at the CFC Independent Borrowers Executive Summit (IBES) 2022 on November 7–9 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, California.

The conference—targeted toward senior leaders of non-Rural Utilities Service borrower cooperatives—provides critical insights on key energy industry, public policy, financial and management issues.

Bjorn Lomborg

  • President, Copenhagen Consensus Center
  • Author

Bjorn Lomborg is an academic and the author of the best-selling “False Alarm: How Climate Change Panic Costs Us Trillions, Hurts the Poor, and Fails to Fix the Planet,” “The Skeptical Environmentalist” and “Cool It.” He challenges mainstream concerns about development and the environment and points out that we need to focus attention on the smartest solutions first.

Lomborg is a visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, which brings together many of the world’s top economists to set priorities for the world.

Kurt Warner

  • Two-time NFL MVP
  • Super Bowl Champion

Throughout his 12-year National Football League career, Kurt Warner continually beat the odds to quarterback the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl, etching his name in NFL record books along the way. For his career, he earned two NFL MVP awards, four Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl MVP honor following the St. Louis Rams’ victory over the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV. Eight years later, he led the Arizona Cardinals to the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl appearance. Warner retired following the 2009 season and is now in broadcasting with the NFL Network and Westwood One. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

While Warner’s football success is impressive, his gridiron accomplishments pale in comparison to his dedication to the community. His off-the-field accolades include the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, the Bart Starr Award and topping the 2009 Sports Illustrated poll of best role models. In 2021, Warner collaborated with Hollywood to bring his life story to the big screen in the movie “American Underdog.”
