Geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan, leadership expert Marcus Buckingham and CFC’s partners on Wall Street will headline a dynamic CFC Independent Borrowers Executive Summit (IBES) 2023, being held November 13–15 in Savannah, Georgia. The conference, targeted toward senior leaders of non-Rural Utilities Service borrower cooperatives, provides critical insights on key energy industry, public policy, financial and management issues. Please be sure to secure your hotel accommodations by the October 19 cut-off date. To learn more and register, visit the IBES 2023 website.

Peter Zeihan

Peter Zeihan is a geopolitical strategist, which is a fancy way of saying he helps people understand how the world works. Zeihan combines an expert understanding of demography, economics, energy, politics, technology and security to help clients best prepare for an uncertain future.

Zeihan has worked for the U.S. State Department in Australia, been part of the D.C. think tank community and helped develop the analytical models for Stratfor, one of the world’s premier private intelligence companies. Zeihan founded his own firm in 2012 to provide a select group of clients with direct, custom analytical products.

Zeihan is a critically acclaimed author whose first two books—“The Accidental Superpower” and “The Absent Superpower”—have been recommended by Mitt Romney, Fareed Zakaria and Ian Bremmer.

Zeihan will discuss how the global energy sector is as complicated and opaque as it is omnipresent and essential, and it has adapted to not only the changes in the global economic system, but also the global political system. He will lay out how we got to where we are and what the future holds for sectors influencing the energy landscape such as agriculture, finance, manufacturing and transport—both nationally and in the local areas we live.

Marcus Buckingham is a global researcher and New York Times’ best-selling author focused on unlocking strengths, increasing performance and pioneering the future of how people work. Buckingham’s 2019 Harvard Business Review cover article “The Feedback Fallacy” was selected by the publication as one of the most influential articles of the last 100 years. Buckingham’s strengths assessments have been taken by over 10 million people worldwide.
