The CFC Annual Meeting speaker is former CNBC “Squawk Box” co-host Marci Rossell who will sit down with CFC CEO Andrew Don to discuss the state of the economy and what to expect in the markets this year. The NCSC Annual Meeting keynoter is former Walmart CEO Bill Simon speaking about his time running one of the largest companies in the world. Taking the stage on behalf of Federated is mountain climber Melissa Arnot Reid who is the first American woman to successfully summit and descend Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen.
Marci Rossell
Marci Rossell is a world-renowned economist and financial expert who electrifies audiences nationwide, speaking candidly on the nexus of economics, politics, culture and the media. She honed her animated style serving as the popular, lively chief economist for CNBC, where she became a household name and a must-watch source of financial news. The former co-host of the well-known pre-market morning news and talk show “Squawk Box,” Rossell is revered for taking complex economic issues and making them relevant to people's lives, families and careers.
Prior to her career in broadcast journalism, Rossell served as corporate economist and investment spokesperson for OppenheimerFunds, one of the nation’s largest mutual fund companies. Rossell began her career as an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Rossell earned a doctorate in economics from Southern Methodist University. She brings a world of experience—from Main Street to Wall Street—when discussing the U.S. economy, international events and movements in capital markets.
Bill Simon
Bill Simon was president and CEO of Walmart U.S. from 2010 to 2014. When he joined the company in 2006, he led the team that created and launched Walmart’s $4 prescription drug program. As CEO, Simon was responsible for more than $280 billion in revenue and 1.2 million associates.
Prior to joining Walmart, Simon held several senior positions at global companies, including Brinker International, Diageo, Cadbury, PepsiCo and RJR-Nabisco.
Simon also served in the public sector. From 2002 to 2004, Simon was secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services. And from 2018 to 2020, he served as the chair of the Defense Business Board.
Simon is currently a senior adviser to the investment firm KKR and also serves on the board of directors at Darden Restaurants and Hanes Brands. He is also the founder and president of the management and consulting firm WSS Venture Holdings.
Melissa Arnot Reid
Melissa Arnot Reid has been a working mountain guide since 2004. She is a passionate seeker of shared adventures and perfecting the balance of learning and teaching. Arnot Reid is the first American woman to successfully summit and descend Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen and has climbed the world’s highest peak six times.
Known as a determined, hard-working and enthusiastic teacher, she has devoted her life to learning from the mountains and sharing that knowledge with others. In 2012, Arnot Reid co-founded The Juniper Fund to provide financial support to families of local workers killed in the mountains of Nepal, and she continues to be actively involved with the fund.
