CFC BudgetPro 5.11 To Deliver Powerful New Features

Enhancements to CFC BudgetPro—a Microsoft Excel-based model designed to assist electric cooperatives in preparing their annual operating budget—are coming soon. 

“We’re excited to announce that the next release of CFC BudgetPro will debut in a few months,” Senior Vice President of Strategic Services Amy Luongo said. “We’ve listened to member feedback, and the new version delivers significantly improved performance while introducing board-ready reporting capabilities, making it easier than ever for members to manage and present their financial data with confidence.” 

What’s New in CFC BudgetPro 5.11

The fall 2025 release includes several powerful new features designed to streamline workflows and improve data clarity:

• Custom payroll reporting: Users can now tailor payroll reports to meet specific organizational needs.
• CFC Compass alignment: BudgetPro now offers the option to break out headquarters construction and regional market expenses, aligning more closely with CFC Compass reporting standards.
• Flexible cell formatting: A new option allows users to change cell formats directly, replacing the previous reliance on conditional formatting throughout the model.
• Improved data quality checks: Enhanced validation for accounting export files ensures greater accuracy and reliability. 

As part of the update, two Power BI-based dashboard templates will be available for download from the CFC Member Website. These templates allow users to import their CFC BudgetPro data for superior visualizations and analytic insights, helping teams make more informed decisions.

“The new CFC BudgetPro will also maintain a robust feature to import previous versions, ensuring that users who have already begun their budgeting process can still access and benefit from the latest enhancements,” Luongo said. 

To support users in navigating the new features, the “CFC BudgetPro Tips and Tricks” publication will be updated with a detailed list of enhancements and supplementary guidance. 

“Whether you’re a seasoned BudgetPro user or just getting started, this resource will help you make the most of the new capabilities,” Luongo added.  

CFC BudgetPro is part of a series of financial tools, including the KRTA Pro ToolPak and CFC Compass, designed to help cooperative staff become more efficient and effective on the job. Upon its release, CFC BudgetPro 5.11 and the updated “CFC BudgetPro Tips and Tricks” guide will be available for download from the CFC Member Website (login required).
