R. Grant Clawson, a trustee since 1989 with Continental Divide Electric Cooperative in Grants, New Mexico, died April 19. He was 72.
Clawson served on the CFC Board of Directors from 2011 to 2017, and as CFC board president from 2016 to 2017. He represented District 10 on the NRECA Resolutions Committee and served as a director and member of the contract committee of the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Cooperative.
Clawson was a farmer, rancher and school administrator and owned a custom saddle business.
“Grant’s skills as an educator were apparent to everyone he worked with at CFC,” CEO Sheldon C. Petersen reflected. “I viewed Grant as a mentor and a wonderful friend. His loss is deeply felt by all of us.”
