US Bank Case Study Highlights Success of CFC One Card

Since the launch of CFC’s One Card Program with U.S. Bank in 2001, the program has grown steadily to become one of CFC’s most relied upon value added services. Recognizing its long term success, U.S. Bank recently developed a case study showcasing the program’s benefits and why it continues to be a top choice among CFC members.

Originally created to reduce accounts payable cycle times, minimize cash advances and simplify expense management, the program has evolved into a comprehensive solution serving over 500 participating cooperatives, representing half of CFC’s membership. In the most recent rebate year, members generated $229 million in spend and earned $3 million in rebates.

“We’ve believed in the One Card program from the very beginning because of the real value it brings to our members,” CFC One Card Program Administrator Gregory Crew said. “I genuinely enjoy talking with members about the product and seeing how the CFC U.S. Bank One Card helps them support their customers and make a difference in their communities.”

Built for Coops, Evolving with Their Needs

Members can choose either One Card or One Card with Fleet, integrating travel, purchasing and fleet expenses into a single, streamlined solution. Ongoing enhancements—such as advanced reporting, stronger card controls, NISC data integration and an improved Access Online platform—have made managing and reconciling expenses even easier.

The program’s flexibility is especially valuable during emergencies. Members can issue cards quickly, raise limits and adjust geographic parameters so crews can deploy without delays or reliance on cash advances.

The case study features insights from members like Mississippi-based Coastal Electric Cooperative, one of the program’s longest-standing participants. The system uses the One Card program to improve its everyday operations.

“The One Card program has streamlined our daytoday small purchases and travel, as well as allowed us to make sure key vendors (communications companies, suppliers, etc.) are paid in a timely manner so there is no disruption of service,” Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services John Holston said. “We have been able to reduce the number of vendors and the number of checks we have to write.”

South Carolina-based Broad River Electric Cooperative has also seen a meaningful financial impact. Since joining the program in 2014, it’s consistently ranked at the top of rebate participants.

“One Card has helped with our cash flow, especially in the first quarter of the year,” Accounting Manager Tonya Buice said. “We can pay our property taxes for one of our counties without any credit fees. This extends our cash flow by 40 days.”

Not Yet Enrolled? Join Today

As the program marks 25 years of enhancing member value, CFC remains committed to growing the One Card experience through ongoing collaboration with U.S. Bank and member feedback.

“For members not yet enrolled and for those looking to expand usage, now is an ideal time to take advantage of a program built by cooperatives, for cooperatives and strengthened over decades of shared success,” Crew said.
