Lewis, Cohn, Adami Headline CFC Forum 2024

Author Michael Lewis, former presidential economic adviser Gary Cohn and “Wall Street Warrior” Guy Adami are a few of the prominent thought leaders taking the stage at the upcoming CFC Forum 2024 and ACES’ Annual Members Conference being held June 17–19 in Indianapolis. We are thrilled to once again partner with ACES to host our largest annual gathering open free of charge to all CFC, NCSC, ACES and Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange members. The event spotlights topics specifically tailored for electric cooperative senior leaders and directors/trustees.

Pre-conference workshops set the stage on June 16 and 17 prior to kicking things off with the annual meetings of CFC, NCSC and Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange on June 17 followed by ACES’ 25th Anniversary Celebration. We hope to see you there!

Michael Lewis

CFC CEO Andrew Don will moderate a discussion with Michael Lewis, financial journalist and New York Times bestselling author. Lewis is a columnist for Bloomberg News and a contributing writer to Vanity Fair. His articles have also appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Gourmet, Slate, Sports Illustrated, Foreign Affairs and Poetry Magazine. Lewis takes a fresh, hard look at the ever-changing value systems that drive our economic markets, political landscapes and cultural norms and how organizations can adapt their thought strategies to facilitate growth among all three.

Lewis’ newest New York Times bestselling book, “Going Infinite,” tells the story of FTX’s collapse and the enigmatic founder at its center, Sam Bankman-Fried.

Lewis‘ other critically acclaimed books—“The Premonition: A Pandemic Story,” “The Fifth Risk: Undoing Democracy,” “The Undoing Project: A Friendship that Changed Our Minds,” “Flash Boys,”

“The Blind Side,” “The Big Short,” “Boomerang” and “Moneyball”—reflect his depth and grasp of topics including our government, finance, the human spirit and how domestic and global markets react to each.

Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Princeton and a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

Gary Cohn

Gary Cohn is vice chairman of IBM, working in partnership with IBM’s Executive Leadership Team on a wide range of business initiatives and external engagement, in areas including business development, public advocacy and client relationship management.

Cohn served as assistant to the president for economic policy and director of the National Economic Council (2017–2018). As chief economic adviser to the president of the United States, Cohn managed the administration’s economic policy agenda and led the successful effort to grow the U.S. economy, create jobs and increase wages through tax and regulatory reform.

Before serving in the White House, Cohn was president and chief operating officer of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (2006–2016). He joined Goldman Sachs in 1990 and held several other leadership positions, including global co-head of the Equities and Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division. He was a member of the firm’s board of directors and chairman of the Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee.

He received his undergraduate degree from American University in 1982.

Guy Adami

From Goldman Sachs, where he was once head gold trader, to ascending the media elite to become one of the original “Fast Money Five” on CNBC’s “Fast Money,” Guy Adami is the quintessential “Wall Street Warrior,” as described by The New York Times.
