Third Plant Accounting Training Module Launches in January 2022

In mid-January 2022, CFC will release its third segment in a series of six planned online modules on plant accounting and work order procedures for cooperatives. Development of this learning program is ongoing and intended for plant accountants, staff who touch work order processes and employees interested in accounting.

In Module 3: Components of Construction Costs, learners will be able to:

  • Identify and locate relevant records and procedures to categorize, track and account for Direct Labor, Direct Materials and Indirect Overhead costs;
  • Determine which cooperative employees to engage in assuring quality labor cost identification;
  • Define procedures, practices and options for inventory accounting in the work order process;
  • Understand typical methods for allocating overhead; and
  • Reference appropriate resources for handling special equipment.

The Plant Accounting for Cooperatives learning program, which includes Module 1: Introduction and Plant Accounting and Module 2: Anatomy of a Work Order, is available through CFC Academy, CFC’s online learning platform. CFC Academy also hosts KRTA Level 1 Online and tutorials on how to fill out the CFC Form 7.
