Enhanced CFC Form 7 Supports 2025 Financial Reporting

As electric distribution cooperatives prepare to report 2025 year-end financials, CFC has launched an enhanced CFC Form 7 designed to streamline reporting, improve transparency and deliver deeper financial insights.

“The updated form reflects CFC’s continued focus on providing members with tools that support efficient reporting and informed financial decision-making,” CFC Senior Vice President of Strategic Services Amy Luongo said.

Improvements Introduced for 2025 Data

The 2025 CFC Form 7 includes several enhancements aimed at reducing manual effort while improving usability and analytical value:

  • A modernized format with improved navigation and clarity.
  • Reduced data entry requirements through a new CFC data import file that incorporates prior-year Form 7 data, billed debt service for CFC and CFC-serviced loans and historical Key Ratio Trend Analysis (KRTA) ratios.
  • A new submission designation option enabling members to indicate whether they are submitting the required standard Form 7 or an alternative Form 7 for a distinct line of business, such as electric-only or broadband operations.

Power BI Dashboards Deliver Financial and Operational Insights

A key enhancement to the 2025 reporting cycle is the introduction of CFC Form 7 Financial and Operational Dashboards, which support review, validation and analysis of submitted data. The Power BI dashboard templates provide a consistent and visual approach to understanding financial and operational performance while helping identify trends over time.

These dashboards align with the Power BI dashboards available for CFC BudgetPro, reinforcing a unified analytical framework across CFC financial tools. By using common metrics and visualizations, members can more easily connect CFC Form 7 reporting with budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.

“The Financial and Operational Dashboards play an important role in supporting data accuracy and informed decision-making by highlighting key results and trends, helping members validate submissions and facilitating internal and board-level discussions tied to KRTA outcomes,” Luongo explained.

To support successful completion of the 2025 CFC Form 7, members have access to a variety of resources through the CFC Member Website, including online tutorials, a comprehensive user guide and the new Financial and Operational Dashboards. Completed forms must be submitted digitally through the secure Member Website by April 30. Members with questions regarding Form 7 submission procedures are encouraged to contact their regional vice president, associate vice president or email FinancialTools@nrucfc.coop.
