CFC Form 7 Submission Deadline Is April 30, Training Available

CFC has created a five-part online training series to assist electric distribution cooperatives that do not borrow from the federal Rural Utilities Service in filling out the CFC Form 7—the annual financial and operating report used by CFC for credit underwriting and loan decisions as well as to calculate Key Ratio Trend Analysis data. Independent borrowers have until April 30 to submit their CFC Form 7.

“These short video tutorials—broken into modules that can be viewed in full or by topic—guide electric cooperative CFOs or senior-level accountants through the process of accessing, completing, checking and submitting their CFC Form 7,” CFC Manager of Financial Tools & Analysis Carolina Park said.

The tutorials cover:

  1. An orientation to Form 7.
  2. Step-by-step instructions for importing data.
  3. A guide to navigating each section of the form.
  4. Using balance checks and tools for validating data.
  5. How to certify, authorize and submit the Form 7.

“Each of the five modules is divided into chapters to allow users to easily find the most relevant topic,” Park explained. “Members can access the CFC Form 7 Tutorial Series catalog to find the chapter that works best for them. We’re also available to answer any questions members may have.”

Members can watch a replay of “Tips for Successfully Completing a CFC Form 7,” an Extra Credit Education Series webinar, that provides tips for completing and submitting the CFC Form 7.
